Ignite Salt Lake

We’re rounding the bend to the end of the month, which probably means everyone is wondering what in blazes we have planned for March.

March’s scheduled SMCUV event actually overlaps with one of the coolest events of the year… Ignite Salt Lake. We decided that rather than competing with such a cool once-a-year event, we’d join forces and lend them our support.

Ignite consists of an awesome lineup of speakers who tackle a variety of subjects. Each speaker is given 5 minutes and 20 slides that auto-forward every 15 seconds.  You can learn everything from “how to survive a zombie apocalypse” to “how to see through walls.”

Basically it will be a night of fun, education and random presentations to make you think and laugh.

Ignite Salt Lake goes from 6:00 – 10:00 pm at the following address:

After a fantastic year of many, many volunteer hours, great efforts, and successful events, the founders of SMCUV (Jack Hadley, April Atwater and Tyler Hartle)  handed off the reigns to a brand new batch of ambitious social media aficionados last week. Without the efforts of our founders, all the exciting things  we have planned for this next year would not be possible, and we’d like to thank them graciously.

Taking the reigns as President of SMCUV is Seth Jenks. We’ll be writing up a feature on Seth soon so we can all get to know him, his interests, and his goals for the club.

Bailey Bouchard was named the head of the publicity and events committee.

Joanie Atwater is heading up the sponsorship and facilities committee.
